Sound Biopharmaceuticals is an innovation-driven biotech company founded under the scientific guidance of a Nobel Laureate. The company is focused on the discovery, development, and global commercialization of novel biologics in the fields of oncology and immunology, with an integrated pipeline spanning preclinical research to clinical development.

SoundBio has established state-of-the-art laboratories in molecular biology, cell biology, structural biology, protein engineering, and drug evaluation. Leveraging these capabilities, the company has built a suite of industry-leading technology platforms, including high-throughput monoclonal antibody discovery, antibody humanization and affinity optimization, recombinant protein production and purification, and its proprietary ADICT® bispecific antibody platform.

Senior Management

Qing Li, MD/PhD Founder/Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Li received his PhD in clinical immunology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He completed his postdoctoral training at Stanford University. Prior to founding the company, Dr. Li served as a Professor of Immunology at Sun Yat-sen University. In 2015, Dr. Li founded Ascenta Biosciences which was acquired two years later.
Fanxin Ma, PhD Co-founder/Chief Technical Officer

Dr. Ma received his PhD in cellular biology from Arizona University and Sichuan University. He ever worked as a senior scientist, laboratory director and project manager in Simcere Pharmaceuticals, and then served as the Director of the Institute of Biopharma in Humanwell Pharmaceuticals Group.
Shoubin Wen, MD Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Wen received his MD from Nanjing Medical University, and continued his training in MD Anderson Cancer Center and University of Calgary. Before joining Soundbio, he served as the leader of Medical Science Liaison team at AstraZeneca and then the Director of Clinical Research in oncology at Sanofi.
Ying Huang, PhD Vice President

Dr. Huang received her bachelor degrees in Chemistry and Economics from Peking University, and PhD in Chemistry from Texas A&M University. Before joining Soundbio, she worked as the Senior R&D Director at Hanxbio pharmaceuticals. Dr. Huang is responsible for the key technology research and management of the projects, technology platform and IND filing.

Roger Kornberg, PhD

Roger Koenberg is a professor of structural biology at Stanford University, a Nobel laureate in chemistry in 2006 and an academician of the National Academy of Sciences. Professor Koenberg is not only a biochemist, but also a structural chemist and geneticist. He has published over 240 academic papers, including more than 50 articles in the top three scientific journals, Cell, Science, and Nature. Professor Koenberg and Dr. Qing Li co-founded Sound BioPharma in 2017. He served as the Chief Scientist of Scientific Advisory Board of the company.
